The Children's Place

The Children’s Place is a comprehensive childcare ministry of Anniston First United Methodist Church.

Our ministry accepts children 6 weeks old through 5 years old. In the summer months, we offer a summer program for school-age children.

We care for our students from 6:30 A.M. until 5:30 P.M. Monday through Friday.

A Loving Environment

Learning and Play activities and enrichment are offered for every age group. Circle-Time is held in each classroom daily. Circle -time includes singing, dancing, storytelling, and games. We also cover letters, numbers, shapes, colors, etc. Our Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 classes cover topics for kindergarten readiness.

Security is a priority here at TCP. All classrooms, play areas, and hallways are equipped with cameras. All entrances are locked and secured by an electronic door system. Access to the building is granted by keycard or manually.

Meals here at TCP are great! We provide a hot nutritionally balanced lunch each day. Fresh fruits and vegetables make appearances regularly. Menu adaptations can be made for most food allergies.

On Wednesdays, we have Chapel for our three and four-year-olds. Anniston First clergy or Children’s Director Emmalie Whitney provides a devotional for our kiddos. Music and Worship Arts Director can often be found in the Chapel with our TCP children leading them with music.

Our indoor and outdoor play areas provide ample space to exercise and to learn through play. TCP is blessed with the Lucy Bryan Memorial Playground. The toddler age groups have their own playground with sidewalks, which are great for chalk and ride “on top” toys, and age-appropriate equipment on a soft rubberized surfacing. Our older children get to enjoy a larger playground with swings, slides, and plenty of room to move!
