As we enter the Advent season, journey with us to become an inn where the Holy is born anew to offer respite, sustenance, and care. As we open our doors wider, will you open your heart to those seeking shelter from the onslaught of life?  No church or person can do it all, but each of us can do something.

This Advent, resolve to understand U.s. poverty and discover ways to address it by rediscovering the Holy Family's experience on the first Christmas.

As a congregation, we are called to embody Jesus’ prayer, “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven,” by pursuing our vision of “A Community Transformed.” We believe God has uniquely called and equipped us for this task, and we hope you will join us as we attempt to ensure that our corner of the world more closely resembles the Kingdom of God as we strive to fulfill God’s vision for us of “A Community Transformed.”

The convergence point of our vision and our values is our mission. We believe that when we combine God’s vision of “A Community Transformed” with our core values, we receive our mission whereby we “Offer the Life-changing grace of Jesus Christ” through our programs and ministries.

We are a Christ-centered and faith-driven community that believes in providing hospitality/acceptance to all who grace our doors. Whether it is music, worship, missions, or small groups, we strive for excellence in all that we do. We provide space and support for the many outreach services housed within our facility is a significant portion of what we do and who we are. These values are inseparable from who we are as well as our mission and vision in this community.

In March of 1997, I returned to Anniston to care for my mother who needed me closer than an 8 hour road trip.  Dan was retiring and I could work here. I was born here, baptized as an infant, confirmed, and grew up in Anniston First.

I have been a member of Anniston First for just over 30 years, I have personally participated in this church's transformation into the one we have today.
