Emma Palmer

Director of Student Ministries and Communications Coordinator

Emma Palmer is the Director of Student Ministries and Communications Coordinator at Anniston First. Emma grew up in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham. Emma graduated from Birmingham-Southern College, with a double major in Religion and Business Administration Finance as well as a distinction in Poverty Studies. She began her seminary education at Boston University School of Theology but decided to take a leave of absence to work directly in ministry before returning to seminary in the future. Throughout her time in college she did youth, children, pastoral, and urban ministry with many different United Methodist Churches including First UMC of Opelika, Roswell UMC, Church at Ross Bridge, and Church of the Reconciler.

Emma also spent a summer in Northern India in the state of Uttarakhand doing Business As Mission work. She is a certified candidate for the order of Deacon in the United Methodist Church North Alabama Conference. Emma is passionate about interfaith work, community engagement, and working with youth as their faith develops. Among other things, Emma enjoys hand embroidering, dancing, Mexican food, and spending time with friends.
