Louise Ballenger was born in Rome, GA, and moved when she was 2 years old to Huntsville, AL. A graduate of Huntsville High School, class of 1965, and attended Samford University for two years studying music and then transferred to The University of Alabama where she received a Bachelor of Music degree majoring in voice and minoring in piano. Louise has studied voice with Elenor Ousley and Bill Stevens, and she has studied piano with Betty Sue Shepherd and Elizabeth Hamner. She has been employed at First United Methodist Anniston for over 40 years and worked in various areas; Mothers’ Day Out, teaching kindergarten, and directing children’s and youth choirs. She currently directs the Crusader Choir, grades 1-3, and teaches private piano and private voice lessons in her home in Golden Springs in Anniston.
