Welcome

April/May Sermon Series:

Recognizing Truth
It is natural and healthy to doubt and ask questions as we search for truth in faith. Lee Strobel was an investigative reporter who tried to prove the the resurrection was false. His conclusion is in the book: “The Case for Faith” which has been made into a movie.  Thomas in John 20:19-31 was also on a quest for the truth.

Recognizing Joy
Where do you find joy?  Many persons find joy through serving others.  Hear members of our congregation share how they found joy though serving in Haiti.

Recognizing the Voice
Anxious and fearful times cloud our clarity for seeing and hearing.  Taking time for silence and stillness may be a key to navigating through these chaotic times. Jesus assures disciples that we can recognize his voice if we can get the clutter and distractions out of the way.

Recognizing Love
A meaningful life is fueled by love.  Take a time-out from your hectic pace to drink from the fountains of love in our midst we may overlook. What does it mean to be recognized by God even in the midst of millions?

First United Methodist Church of Anniston welcomes you to the joy of our fellowship. We believe you will find a friendly congregation in which you can worship and serve with meaning.  We extend to you a cordial invitation to worship with us, find your place of service and let this church be your spiritual home.

You are encouraged to talk to a pastor any time about questions you may have about this church or the Methodist church in general.  Their doors are always open to you.

If you do not have a church family, we hope you will consider being a part of Anniston First. We would love to help you grow in faith and fellowship.

Our sanctuary service is accompanied by a pipe organ, with hymns and chorus taken from the United Methodist Hymnal, and our Chancel Choir. We strive to connect the hymns and songs we sing with the worship focus for each Sunday, so that worshippers are able to experience deep emotional and spiritual connections through all aspects of the service.

10:30 AM engage
Engage: A time to seek and meet God.
A conptemporary service with casual dress and upbeat live music.  We incorporate drama, videos, and conversation into our worship service to bring the scriptures to life in relevant and sometimes humorous ways.
