She was the Associate Pastor at Gadsden First United Methodist Church, the lead pastor of Hewett Memorial in Albertville, Alabama, and the pastor of Hope of Albertville, a vital merger of two United Methodist congregations, before serving the last three years ATEM (appointment to extension ministry) as the Executive Director of the Family Success Center of Etowah County. She was the Candidacy Coordinator and Local Pastor Registrar for the Mountain Lakes District for six years, assisting individuals discerning a call to vocational ministry and journeying into credentialed ministry, and is the Christian Education instructor and a mentor for the North Alabama Conference’s annual Licensing School, the first step of the educational path to the credentialed ministry for non-seminary graduates. She is a member and vice-chair of the Board of Ordained Ministry and a member of the Board of Ordained Ministry Operational Team. Her husband, Joseph, was her high school sweetheart. They have been married for almost twenty-eight years, and have two young adult sons—Ryan (24) and Andrew (26) who is married to Bethanie. Joseph is a facility technician with AT&T here in Calhoun County. Tammy and Joseph enjoy cycling, both road, and mountain, and have one cat, Itty Bitty, and one beloved but old dog, Shadow.
