A church family for every generation
If you are looking for a faith community where you can belong, grow, and be known, you have a place here. At Anniston First United Methodist Church, you will find people of all ages worshiping together, serving together, and learning how to follow Jesus in everyday life.
We call this Generations Together. It means we do not build church around one age group, one style, or one season of life. We grow as one body in Christ.
What you can expect when you visit
You will be welcomed.
You do not need to have it all figured out. You can come as you are, ask honest questions, and take your next step at your own pace.
You will find people who want to grow.
We are rooted in the grace of God and we believe faith is meant to deepen over time. We worship, pray, study Scripture, and build friendships that carry us through real life.
You will see generations worshipping side by side.
We picture our church like a living tree: strong roots, a steady trunk, and growing branches. Every generation matters, and each one strengthens the whole.
- Legacy (Roots): older members whose steady faith and wisdom anchor our church
- Foundation (Trunk): young adults and working families building something lasting
- Momentum (Branches and Leaves): children and youth full of energy and hope, not the church “someday,” but part of the church today
The kind of church we are becoming
We are becoming a church that honors tradition without getting stuck in the past. We share leadership and make room for new voices. We include children and youth in worship and service because they matter right now, not someday. We value every person and refuse “favorites” based on age or stage of life. And we measure our ministries and decisions with one simple question: Will this help us love God and love our neighbors well?
